I had no way of knowing what the future held for me when I was pregnant with my first child. It did not take long for me to find out. The first trimester was pretty normal, nothing changed. I woke in the mornings a couple of times with a slight case of morning sickness but that was it. Then the second trimester hit and I soon learned that I needed new clothes badly. I had been putting it off but it was time to shop for maternity wear.
I did not want to buy maternity clothes, I had been putting it off as long as I could. I just knew that I would not find anything that had style and I did not want to look like a fat woman in a potato sack. I could not believe my eyes when I got to the store. There were so many beautiful stylish clothes for pregnant women. They looked like clothes I would buy even if I was not pregnant.
I was so relieves that I would be able to have stylish clothes while being pregnant. I did not buy more than a couple things because I was in the second trimester and I thought I needed to wait until I got a lot bigger before I bought more clothes.
By the third trimester I had actually been back twice to buy more maternity clothes and was on my way there again. I loaded up on clothes and even bought several outfits for me to wear once I had the baby. I knew that getting in to my old clothes was out of the question at least for a month or so.
When I was in my eighth month I decided that we needed to finish all the shopping so we could have the nursery ready when the time came to bring home my beautiful baby. We learned early on that we were having a girl. I had to buy everything girlie that I could. We found a lot of beautiful little girl clothes.
The one thing I saw and feel in love with immediately was the ladybug baby bedding. I just had to have it. So we get home with all of our new things and start putting them away. The nursery was looking beautiful especially after I added the new ladybug stuff to it.
A month later I was in labor and our little girl was born. After a few days in the hospital it was time to go home. I was getting my baby ready and putting on her going home outfit that I had with me and it was too big. I had to put her in the sleepwear that we had with us. For the whole first month that was all she could wear because she was so little. Nothing we brought would fit her. The point to this story is you may think you are prepared for anything but once your baby gets here you will learn that you are never prepared enough.
